As our city grows, so to do our needs for play, interaction with nature, relaxation and recreation, and the opportunity to socialise in outdoor spaces. The old harbour site on the edge of the city center provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to plan a green oasis in the heart of our city, bringing a touch of nature back to the urban environment and acting as our community's shared 'backyard'.

A masterplan project to develop the new park was launched in October 2018, and is now nearing completion. Over 10,000 people have been involved so far to make sure the new parklands meet the diverse needs of our residents.
